Conferences, Workshops, Seminars, Meetings

We assist in designing and we facilitate various types of group events upon demand, either at our offices, on-site, or in a residential setting. Click for examples of facilitation or moderation activities or contact us for a tailor-made solution to your needs.

Facilitation at Conferences and Seminars

We add value to (international) conferences by assisting to define clear focus and products to be obtained at the outcome. In particular, we aim for better quality and processes in those conferences. We can coach speakers in advance and facilitate subgroup sessions for better sharing of ideas among the participants. During such sessions, we use META Plan and LFA techniques of facilitation, visualisation and recording.

Facilitation of "Kick-Start" workshops

Apparently it is often difficult to start up Projects and Programmes. Financing proposals mostly describe 'WHAT' should happen but are not so explicit about 'HOW' it should happen. We experienced great impact of running 1 to 2 day Kick-Start workshops to identify Immediate Actions, responsibilities and deadlines for the pre-Inception Phase and prepare a plan for the 6-month Inception Phase. All stakeholders are really getting energized by such an 'injection' exercise. During such sessions, we use META Plan and LFA techniques of facilitation, visualisation and recording.

Facilitation of organisational change

As Moderators, we intervene to facilitate internal processes of change. As such, we work with a group or groups to highlight common aspects, clarify or redefine objectives at their various levels, facilitate the expression of perceptions and interests, identify successes and bottlenecks, the end product being a Management Logframe Matrix.

Moderation of GOPP related analysis and planning

This type of workshop tends to be a 'typical' GOPP workshop, using all the techniques: active group participation, clear definitions of problems and objectives, analyses of stakeholders and beneficiaries, building problem and objective trees and constructing a Logical Framework Matrix. The workshop may reveal conflicting interests as well as hidden objectives which will have to be dealt with. But, needless to say, no GOPP workshop is ever 'typical'.

Facilitation of evaluation assignments (ex ante and ex post)

We facilitate the evaluation of proposals during the Formulation phase (ex ante) as well as during Implementation (Midterm assessment) and the Evaluation phase during which the impact of the intervention is measured. The same PCM tool are applied but the perspective from which a project is viewed is different. An ex ante evaluation is done from a 'forward engineering' perspective and an ex post evaluation from an 'upstream engineering' perspective where initial plans, what should have happened, are compared in the light of what has actually taken place.
